About Weidmann Diagnostic Solutions Inc.

Weidmann Diagnostic Solutions Inc. (formerly Weidmann-ACTI, Inc.) was formed in 2000 through the merger of two separate companies with diverse backgrounds that complemented each other in both expertise and markets served.

Weidmann Technical Services, Inc., was formed in 1996 by a group of Weidmann Transformer Engineers with several years of experience within the Weidmann Group in the design of insulation systems for electrical transformers. The Weidmann Group Companies are worldwide leaders in insulation systems technology for power and distribution transformers with headquarters in Rapperswil, Switzerland. Weidmann Technical Services provided engineering solutions including: optimum loading studies, condition appraisals, and diagnostic and preventive maintenance testing of electrical insulating materials for electric utilities, electrical utility service companies, equipment manufacturers and industrial clients.

Analytical ChemTech, Inc. (ACTI), was formed in 1995 by a group of Analytical Chemists with more than twenty years of experience in the development of new test methods and advancements in technology for the early detection of transformer faults. ACTI with five laboratories located throughout the US and Canada specializes in the diagnostic and preventive maintenance testing of electrical insulating materials for electric utilities, service companies, equipment manufacturers, and industrial clients.

Since the formation of Weidmann Diagnostic Solutions in 2000, our business has grown to include a 6th North American laboratory (located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada), two new Diagnostic Service Centers (located in Lake Hamilton, FL and Baton Rouge, LA), a new Educational Services division, and the development of an online dielectric strength analyzer called The Weidmann Centurion. Weidmann Diagnostic Solutions also continues to host the annual “New Diagnostic Concepts for Better Asset Management” Technical Conference each fall.
