New Diagnostic Concepts for Better Asset Management - September 15-17, 2008 - Hotel Monteleone, New Orleans, LA

The Seventh Annual Weidmann Diagnostic Solutions Technical Conference was once again a huge success. This year’s conference, “New Diagnostic Concepts for Better Asset Management,” was held at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, LA, from September 15-17, 2009. There were approximately 160 participants including attendees, speakers and exhibitors. Representatives were from utilities, service companies, insurance companies, government agencies and manufacturers.

The two and a half day conference began early Monday morning, Sept. 15th and was concluded on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 17th. Daniel Tschudi, Wicor Holding AG, gave the conference welcome. Over the course of the conference eighteen speakers gave technical presentations covering all aspects of transformers. The presentations were well received and the relaxed atmosphere at the conference allowed for a free exchange of ideas between all the participants.

On Monday night the conference welcome reception and buffet dinner, held in the Riverview Room on the 16th floor of the Hotel Monteleone, was an enormous success.  In addtion to great food - A Taste of New Orleans - and beverages, the attendees enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and spent time catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances. On Tuesday afternoon the Exhibitor Tradeshow was excellent.  It was held during a buffet lunch - and again during cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  Vendor exhibitors were: ABB Inc., Advanced Power Technologies, Baron USA, CE Power Solutions, Colt Atlantic Services, Cooper Power Systems, Delta Star Inc., Digital Inspections, DYMAX Service Company, Electric Power Systems, FLIR Systems, Global Power Supply, High Voltage Supply/ Waukesha Electric Systems, Jordan Transformer, Kelman, Megger & PowerDB, Neoptix Fiber Optic Temperature Sensors, Normandy Machine Company, OMICRON Electronics, Power Asset Recovery Coproration, Power Substation Services, PowerPD, Reinhausen Manufacturing, Southwest Electric Company, Velcon Filters and Waukesha Electric Systems. The enthusiastic vendor representatives and excellent technical displays provided information about the companies’ services and products. Many vendor and passport door prizes were awarded.
